New Ventures in November

Happy November! Things are rapidly approaching 2024. All my summer routines have been disrupted and new habits are emerging as the weather cools.

First of all, the Charlton Farmer’s Market has decided to continue the fun and host a winter market from November 1st until December 20th (with the exception of Thanksgiving week.) Wednesdays from 4 - 7 in the Charlton, MA Grange #92. We are there with new stock and a festive turn for this season.

At the Winter Market, I have been thinking about packaging/gift wrapping. To encourage less waste in gift wrapping, I am offering a number of options.

  1. Origami boxes can be used and reused. They are also made from repurposed paper that has been hand-printed.

  2. The five-pointed origami stars are made with handprinted paper but also are available in repurposed, vintage music scores. These stars can be displayed as part of other decorations or attached to an origami box. You can see in the picture above that the addition of a star to the origami box elevates the look.

  3. Holiday postcards are going fast.

  4. We also have a small tree with origami ornaments. These ornaments are special as they can conceal a small gift - a chocolate or other small item.

If you aren’t aware, I have busied myself with using post-consumer materials in my art practice. In fact, most of my materials are post-consumer based. So I am delighted to tell you that some of my products will now be available for sale at the Burncoat  Center of Arts and Wellness at 78 Burncoat St. Worcester, MA 01605. bcawworcester.com If you want to know more about the center, I would advise you visit their website. Their unique perspective on mind/body/creativity connection just hits right. One thing that I love is how the aroma of essential oils greets you at the door. The center has incorporated a refillery into the center. Bring your own container, weigh it, and then fill it with any of the liquid soaps, cleaning products, and so on. We have some of the lavender/rosemary hand soap and I can tell you I love washing my hands now.

I am still offering mending services and hope to even get around to my own pile of mending soon.
